Hampton Court Palace
Hampton Court Palace
Surrey
This historic royal palace has more than 500 years of fascinating royal history for you to discover and took just ten years to be transformed from a country home into the magnificent palace that can be seen today. With much of this Tudor palace still surviving, Hampton Court Palace is amongst the most important palaces of its kind still in existence.
Situated on the bank of the River Thames in southwest London, there is plenty to see at Hampton Court Palace and be prepared to spend a full day here if you really want to appreciate its splendour and history.
Offering something for everyone such as the largest private collection of art in the world, the Royal Collection, and the maze in the grounds. Guides in period costume and audio tours bring the palace to life, providing an insight into how life in the palace would have been in the time of Henry VIII and William III. Admire the well preserved architecture of Base court and clock court, leading to Henry's marvellous Great Hall, England's greatest medieval hall.
There are a variety of events held at Hampton Court Palace throughout the year; one of these is the famous Hampton Court Flower Show. It is no wonder Hampton Court Palace continues to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year as there is so much to do, this really is a great place to visit with your family and friends.
