Houses of Parliament
City of Westminster
The House of Parliament, also referred to as the Palace of Westminster, is situated
on the bank of the Thames in the City of Westminster, London. Containing the two
house of parliament in the UK – the House of Lords and the House of Commons, the
Houses of Parliament is a fascinating place to visit with over 1000 rooms and 3
miles of corridors.
Throughout the year free tours are held where you will see the main areas of the
estate including the Commons and Lords debating chambers and the Queen's Robing
Room. Tours are led by a trained guide and last about 75 minutes.
There are also one hour long tours during the summer recess beginning at Victoria
Tower and ending in the historic Westminster Hall. Please note UK residents can
tour throughout the year but overseas visitors may only tour during the Summer Opening.
Whilst at the Houses of Parliament, why not visit the famous London landmark – Big
Ben.
