Richmond Park
London
At almost 2500 acres in size, Richmond Park is the largest Royal Park in London and is designated as a National Nature Reserve (NNR), a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
Featuring a picturesque landscape of hills, woodland, ponds, gardens and grasslands set amongst ancient trees, Richmond Park is home to around 650 free roaming red and fallow deer and offers a peaceful retreat for visitors.
The park has a wide range of facilities including a playground at Petersham Gate and educational facilities for those with special needs at Holly Lodge.
There are designated cycle paths and the beautiful scenery make Richmond Park an ideal place for cycling in London. Other activities that Richmond Park is ideal for is fishing, wildlife watching and horse riding.
