Kensington
One of the UK's most treasured and distinctive buildings, the world famous performing arts venue, the Royal Albert Hall is the venue for more than 330 performances every year including classical, rock and pop concerts, ballet and opera, sporting events such as tennis and award ceremonies and other events.
Officially opened in 1871 by Queen Victoria, the grade 1 listed building is most famous as the venue of the popular annual eight-week summer Proms concerts since 1941.
Over the years many of the world's leading music artists from every type of genre have appeared on its stage, including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Abba, Elton John and Luther Vandross. The world-famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra regularly perform a range of events, ranging from popular classics to evenings devoted to film, the musicals and symphonic.
There are daily tours of the Royal Albert Hall where you will go behind the scenes and see the workings, the auditorium, the Royal Retiring room and the Queen's Box.
