Royal Albert Hall

One of the UK's most treasured and distinctive buildings, the world famous performing
arts venue, the Royal Albert Hall is the venue for more than 330 performances every
year including classical, rock and pop concerts, ballet and opera, sporting events
such as tennis and award ceremonies and other events.
Officially opened in 1871 by Queen Victoria, the grade 1 listed building is most
famous as the venue of the popular annual eight-week summer Proms concerts since
1941.
Over the years many of the world's leading music artists from every type of genre
have appeared on its stage, including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Abba,
Elton John and Luther Vandross. The world-famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra regularly
perform a range of events, ranging from popular classics to evenings devoted to
film, the musicals and symphonic.
There are daily tours of the Royal Albert Hall where you will go behind the scenes
and see the workings, the auditorium, the Royal Retiring room and the Queen's Box.
