Wembley Stadium
Wembley Stadium
London
The second largest stadium in Europe, Wembley is located in North West London and the home to England’s national football team. Opened in 2007 after years of construction (the old Wembley was demolished in 2003), the new Wembley became one of the World’s most expensive stadiums at a cost of around £800million. With a capacity of 90,000 the atmosphere is a unique experience, and Wembley is well worth a visit even for a friendly match or just a tour of the stadium. Other events besides football are also held at Wembley, particularly major music concerts, such as the charity Live Earth event.
