There are a variety of events organised for 2010 across London. There is something
for everyone, and as there is so much variety you will always find an event taking
place that will interest you. Our guide to London events highlights just a sample
of London events, there are simply too many to list them all! Organised into calender

1st June 2010 - 31st October 2010: 'Twilight Tours Tower of London'

Tower of London
The infamous tower of executions and imprisonments might seem harmless in this modern
age by daylight but if you join a yeoman on this twilight tour, you'll see a whole
other side to the Tower of London.

1st June 2010 - 31st October 2010: 'Breakthrough' -
Imperial War Museum
Breakthrough constitutes a major re-hang of the Imperial War Museum's impressive
collection of British art by the likes of Paul Nash, John Piper and Bill Woodrow.

12th June 2010: 'Trooping the Colour: The Queen's Birthday Parade'

St James's Park
Help celebrate the Queen's official birthday with annual Trooping the Colour parade
that has taken place in London since 1820. The Queen carries out an inspection of
the troops from the Household Division and then leads the troops down the Mall to
Buckingham Palace, one of London's most famous landmarks. The Queen salutes and
guns are fired in Green Park and at the Tower of London, before she joins other
members of the Royal Family on the balcony to watch the RAF flypast.

19th June 2010 - 20th June 2010: 'Paradise Gardens' - Victoria
Park, London
Victoria Park is transformed into a modern-day pleasure garden for two days on June
19th and June 20th. The free family festival features an extraordinary circus and
side show, live music and DJs, street arts and dance, children's activities, food,
crafts and licensed bars.

19th June 2010 - 4th July 2010: 'London Festival of Architecture'
The 2010 London Festival of Architecture will be a city-wide celebration of architecture
throughout the capital. Themed as 'The Welcoming City' as London gears up for the
London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the London Festival of Architecture includes
a 16-day program of events; to develop projects, take part in debates; explore the
city through guided walks and bike rides and to examine change in the capital in
a celebratory way.

21st June 2010 - 4th July 2010: 'Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships
2010'
Watch Britain's most prestigious tennis tournament and the oldest in the World.
Every year the best tennis players from around the world descends on Wimbledon in
London every summer for two weeks of great tennis. Support Andy Murray as he aims
to become the first British male winner since Fred Perry in 1936.

21st June 2010 - 9th July: 'City of London Festival 2010'
The City of London Festival entertains all those that live, work and visit the City
of London, with unique events and world-class artists at over 50 venues across England's
capital city. Created in 1962 to revitalise the cultural life of the City of London,
the festival runs during the summer months each year from mid-June to early August,
and has established itself as one of the UK's leading arts events.

30th June 2010 - 4th July 2010: 'Henley Royal Regatta'
First held in 1839 and been held annually ever since, the famous Henley Royal Regatta
is held over 5 days and promises an exciting spectacle.

2nd July 2010: 'Wireless' - Hyde Park
Now in its 6th year, Wirelss is the premier multi-day festival, set in the stunning
surroundings of Hyde Park in the heart of London. Multiple stages will feature the
biggest and best of today's dance, pop and rock acts mixed with the coolest newcomers.
In the past headliners such as Jay-Z, Depeche Mode, Kasabian, Morrissey, Kanye West,
Massive Attack, White Stripes and The Strokes have performed.

8th July 2010 - 11th July 2010: 'Hampton Court Palace Flower Show'
- Hampton Court Palace Grounds
The Royal Hoticultural Society welcomes members and non-members to the world's largest
annual flower show, held in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace. Over six summer
days in July, the idyllic setting of Henry VIII's favourite palace is transformed
to showcase an exciting range of flowers, plants, show gardens and water Gardens,
Floral Marquees, demonstrations and gardening accessories. The explosion of colour
and fragrance guarantee an enjoyable summer's day out for all.

16th July 2010 - 17th July 2010: 'Lovebox' - Victoria Park
Running from Friday to Sunday, as the weather hots up in London, Lovebox is a great
end to the week. Held in Victoria Park, Lovebox 2010 will see Dizzie Rascal and
Chase and Status among others perform.

16th July 2010 - 11th September 2010: 'BBC Proms 2010'
- Royal Albert Hall/Cadogan Hall
The world-famous BBC Proms is an annual music festival taking place at the Royal
Albert Hall in London, and other UK venues and comprising of 76 Proms at the Royal
Albert Hall and 13 chamber concerts at Cadogan Hall and culminating in a grand musical
event known as "Last Night at the Proms".

3rd August 2010 - 7th August 2010: 'Great British Beer Festival 2010'
- Earl's Court
The Great British Beer Festival at Earls Court is Britain's biggest beer festival,
and for 2010 will once again bring together a wide range of real ales, ciders, perries
and international beers. There's plenty to occupy you at the Great British Beer
Festival 2010, you can play traditional pub games, enjoy live music, sample some
food, including good traditional pub snacks, and also attend tutored beer tastings.

20th & 30th August 2010: 'The Notting Hill Carnival 2010'
- Notting Hill
The Notting Hill Carnival is the largest festival celebration of its kind in Europe
and one of London's biggest annual events. Held each August Bank Holiday since 1966,
The Notting Hill Carnival creates a wonderful atmosphere as over 40,000 volunteers
and over 1 million revellers crowd the streets of West London. The streets come
alive with twenty miles of vibrant colourful costumes, astonishing floats, traditional
steel drum bands, hundreds of Caribbean food stall, scores of sound systems plus
not forgetting the hundreds of stalls that line the streets of Notting Hill.

11th & 12th September 2010: 'The Mayor's Thames Festival's 2010'
- Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge and beyond
The Mayor's Thames Festival takes place annually in mid-September over a weekend
on the River Thames, the riverside walkways, roads, bridges, docks and public open
spaces from Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge and beyond. The festival is a stunning,
free celebration of London and its river and it has become a key highlight in the
city's cultural life. Its river and water-focused activities are based on public
participation. The festival commissions new work, and transforms unusual spaces
on and around the River Thames with a mixture of street arts, performance, carnival,
pyrotechnics, illuminations, art installations, exhibitions, river events, massed
choirs, circus, music and dance, food and feasting. The finale is a magical illuminated
Night Procession that winds along the north and south banks of the Thames, followed
by a fireworks display fired from the centre of the river itself.

14th October 2010 - 29th October 2010: 'London Film Festival 2010'
- British Film Institute, South Bank, London
Now in its 54th year, the annual London Film Festival takes place at the British
Film Institute (BFI) on London's South Bank, and at a selection of cinemas across
the capital. Attracting Hollywood celebrities as well as independent film-makers
from around the globe, the festival offers a variety of cinematic output, from star-studded
premieres of Hollywood blockbusters to independent films, foreign language submissions,
animations and documentaries, as well as a programme of talks, on-stage interviews
and workshops.
