At 135 metres tall the London eye is the biggest Ferris wheel in Europe and the
fourth tallest structure in London, towering above the London Skyline.
<br />
<br />
The London Eye is situated on the South Bank of the river Thames, opposite the Houses
of Parliament. Opened to the public in March 2000, it has become a famous London
landmark and over 30 million people have since ridden it.
<br />
<br />
Consisting of 32 sealed and air-conditioned passenger capsules, each rotation of
the wheel takes about 30 minutes, meaning a capsule travels at a stately 0.6 miles
per hour, and mean passengers can get on and off without the wheel having to stop.
<br />
<br />
On a clear day you can see around 40km from the top, to as far as Windsor Castle,
and it is a great way to see London from a new perspective.
<br />
<br />
<br />
The London Eyes is available to hire for special occasions such as birthdays, weddings,
hen or stag parties and corporate and office events.
